Australia ranks fourth in the world for business Internet service after USA, Japan and Singapore, but before Hong Kong, England, Canada and Korea according to a survey by serviced office providers Servcorp.
According to the report, 85.4% of Australians believe the government should invest more in internet infrastructure and 49.2% are calling for better regulation of telecommunication companies.
However, 63.1% of business leaders in Australia say the government needs to offer incentives for businesses to improve the internet and 55.4% say there needs to be an increase in competition in the marketplace.
The survey is of 7,500 business people in 24 countries, and suggests that Australia’s interconnectivity is much better than most. Notwithstanding this, 85.4% thought the government should invest more in the Internet.
